Paramount Theatre is back. The August 18th opening of the Broadway spectacular KINKY BOOTS will mark the first in-person indoor show at the Paramount in the last 524 days and will be among the first productions in the Chicago area since live theater was shut down. Thank you for your patience while we sorted through the ever changing landscape and protocols.

The health and safety of our guests, staff and artists remains our top priority. Accordingly, we are following public safety guidelines from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Current guidance does NOT allow for unvaccinated patrons to attend indoor performances without a mask and 6 feet social distancing. Social distancing in the Paramount Theatre is simply not possible.

Therefore, for the production of KINKY BOOTS, we will require all patrons to show proof of vaccination at the time of their performance.  Guests will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA-emergency use authorization vaccine to attend and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre.

All Paramount Theatre staff, cast, musicians, ushers and crew will also be fully vaccinated.

With current guidance, masks will not be required, although patrons are free to wear them if they choose. The only exception will be for children under the age of 12 that are not currently eligible to receive a vaccine. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult and must wear a mask at all times. Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted.

We look forward to when the state can fully open again, when we can welcome all patrons and when proof of vaccination isn’t required.

If you are not planning to be fully vaccinated by the time of your performance, please contact the box office at 630-896-6666 to discuss your options.

For more information on our COVID-19 Vaccination & Safety Protocols please see below.

We look forward to seeing you in person at the Paramount!

Thank you,

Tim Rater
President & CEO

P.S. Keep in mind that, as with so many things during this pandemic, necessary protocols might change on short notice.

VACCINATION POLICY

  • PROOF OF VACCINE

    • All patrons must provide proof of vaccination and a photo ID. A school ID will also suffice. Proof can consist of your vaccination card, a photo of it on your phone or a Xeroxed copy of your card.
  • FULLY VACCINATED

    • In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:
      • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
      • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.

  • FDA EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION

    • All current vaccines have been given to the public under an EUA (emergency use authorization). Those 12 and older are approved to take the EUA vaccine by the FDA.

MASK POLICY

CLEANING AND SANITIZING

In addition to the robust cleaning practices that were already in place, we have:

  • Increased the frequency of cleaning throughout the building for high-touch areas in the front of house and back of house areas of Paramount
  • Added state-of-the-art practices including self-cleaning anti-microbial covers in high touch areas where possible
  • Set up hand-sanitizing stations throughout the venue
  • Trained all employees in critical hand washing and cleaning guidelines
  • Replaced waste receptacles with open top units so guests can throw out items without touching any surfaces
  • HVAC units have been tested by a certified testing and balancing company and found to meet or exceed industry standards. MERV filters are used in all our units.
    • Affiliations and certifications include ASHRAE, NEBB, SMACNA, TABB and inttb.com

EMPLOYEE & GUEST RESPONSIBILITY

We ask that employees and guests stay home if they are sick or exposed to COVID-19. Please contact the box office to transfer your tickets to another performance, donate your tickets or request a refund. There will be no fees or penalties for making changes to your tickets through the run of Kinky Boots unless you are moving to a more expensive day or seating zone.
