AUDITION-BASED PROGRAMMING
PSA is excited to announce Season 5 Auditions for our Audition Based Programs. You can find all you need to know about our ABP programs here
We encourage our students to audition IN PERSON for our year long audition-based programs in musical theater, acting, and dance.
In Person Auditions will be Friday, August 18th from 5-8 pm and Saturday August 19th from 10am-1pm.
Interested students must sign up for an open call audition time slot and can do so by clicking these links
YTC and MTI Students-Please note that by signing up for your session you will be called at the start time for the entire session in order to be present for a formal dance call. After the dance call is completed students will have a 15 minute break to get ready for their individual calls. Each student will be seen one at a time in order of their assigned numbers that will be picked up upon arrival.
**Students will be dismissed after their individual call.
***If you are auditioning for AI only you can arrive 1 hour after the start of the open call.
YTC and MTI students must prepare One 1 minute song and One 1 minute monologue. Also must participate in the dance call.
AI students must prepare Two 1 minute monologues in contrasting themes.
YTC = Youth Theater Conservatory Grades 6-8
MTI = Musical Theater Institute Grades 9-12
AI = Acting Institute Grades 9-12
Students who cannot make the in person audition dates may submit a video audition for consideration by Friday August 11th at 5:00 pm. Please note that NO video submissions will be accepted after Friday July 11th at 5:00 pm,
Video Audition requirements:
Please email videos or links to your videos to school@paramountarts.com with the following information:
- Subject line (Students Name, Grade in Fall 2023, and Program which they are auditioning for)
- Example: Jessica Coy, 8th grade, YTC
- Please send videos via attachment or link to youtube/dropbox/google drive.
Each video should be labeled with the students name, program auditioning for, and content of the video. Example:

Youth Theater Conservatory
Youth Theater Conservatory
$450 Per Semester – Including 3 hours of instruction/week
Students participating in our Youth Theater Conservatory program will experience musical theater training like no other. Meeting each student where they are, YTC students will spend dedicated hours each week exploring the ins and outs of musical theater which will blend acting, vocals, and dance. Students in the YTC program will also be given opportunities to attend performances, community programs, workshops, talk backs, special field trips, and private coaching from Paramount industry experts. By the end of this 3 year program students will be prepared to audition for our high school program Musical Theater Institute (MTI).
Age Range
- Grades 6–8 / Age 11–13
Description
- For students who have serious interest in singing, dancing and acting
- Intermediate to advanced classes
- Good prep for Musical Theater Institute
- Full year commitment

Musical Theater Institute

$450.00 per semester – this includes 3 hours of instruction every week
Students participating in our Musical Theater Institute program will experience musical theater training like no other. This program is designed to help prepare students to audition for university theater programs or enter the world of professional acting.

Paramount Dance Project
Paramount Dance Project
$375 Per Semester – this includes 3.5 hours of instruction/week
Paramount Dance Project (PDP) is the official dance company of Paramount School of the Arts. PDP is for high school students in grades 9-12. This program combines intense technique sessions with an introduction to diverse styles of dance. Company members train five hours a week together as a company, with the opportunity to add a sixth hour of Tap Technique free of charge. Members also work on original pieces of choreography as a group, as well as solo work, all of which will be premiered at their end of the season showcase. Being a PDP company member provides dancers the opportunity to train with like minded individuals that are looking to expand their technical skills, open their artistic development and prepare for continuing their dance journey after high school. All company members will also receive personalized assistance in preparation for college program auditions.

Summer
This one week dance intensive that immerses students in technique and artistry, while working on conditioning and developing their own choreography. The camp culminates in a public student choreography showcase. We currently audition new company members for the Fall and Summer trimesters. The Fall program is a year long commitment and will run in both of our fall and spring semesters.

- Students currently enrolled in YTC, MTI or PDP are guaranteed a spot in summer camps/intensives, as long as they sign up during the priority registration period.
Course Work
- PDP members will take classes 2 days a week. The courses are as follows:
- Tuesdays 5—7 PM
- Technique class in ballet and jazz. Company members will train together in a 2 hour long technique class focusing on ballet and jazz technique.
- Thursdays 6–7:30 PM
- Conditioning and Artistry. Company members will train together in a 1 hour long conditioning class that will include training in strength, endurance, flexibility, and anatomy understanding. They will train together for 2 hours in artistry which will include learning choreography in different styles of dance, work on creating original choreography together, and creating pieces for company based performance opportunities when available.

Acting Institute
Acting Institute
$300 per semester up to 2 hours of instruction/week.
Students participating in our Acting Institute are guided through a 4 year program developed for high school students who are looking to enhance their acting skills, on-camera presence, and prepare for auditions, college, and more. Students in the AI program will also be given opportunities to attend performances, community programs, workshops, talk backs, special field trips, and private coaching from Paramount industry experts. This program is designed to help prepare students to audition for university theater programs or enter the world of professional acting.
