Plan Your Visit
Paramount Theatre is about gathering together and sharing in the experience of live theater. We are committed to the health and safety of all members of our Broadway musical community—theater employees, production staff, cast, and audience members.
To ensure the safety of everyone in the theatre, the following policies will be in place for all performances of Cinderella and David Sedaris. For procedures for Copley Theatre performances, please click here.
IMPORTANT: Please note, everyone regardless of age (adults, teens, children) who are attending a performance at either Paramount Theatre or Copley Theatre must have proof of being fully vaccinated or a negative COVID-19 Test. Please familiarize yourself with the below details so you bring the proper documentation. Please share this information with anyone you may have given tickets to and/or will be joining you so everyone in your party is aware of requirements. Our goal is to make this as smooth of an experience as possible.
For performances through January 9, 2022:
Everyone in the theatre must wear acceptable face coverings at all times, including during the show, except while consuming beverages. All face coverings must cover the nose and mouth, and comply with the CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings.
VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE COVID TEST REQUIRED
All patrons (including children) must show proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID test (for those that need an exemption) at their time of entry into the theater with their valid ticket and must show a photo ID (ID for those 14 and older.) “Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine.
Those guests under the age of 12 who are not fully vaccinated, or those who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may provide proof of a negative covid-19 test per below. PLEASE NOTE: ALL GUESTS REGARDLESS OF AGE who are not fully vaccinated must provide proof of at least one of the following, in addition to properly wearing a mask while inside the building:
- negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the published performance time, or
- negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken no later than 24 hours of published performance time.
Note: All tests must be administered by a medical professional and clearly display date, time and results of test.
IMPORTANT: To clarify, all teens/children of all ages either need to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test, per above.
If proof of vaccination or a negative test or photo ID (ID for those 14 and older) cannot be presented, guests of any age will not be allowed access to the building and will be asked to contact the box office for their options.
Acceptable Forms of Proof: Guests may present proof of vaccination or a negative test on paper or a smartphone. If proof of vaccination or a negative test or photo ID cannot be presented, patrons will not be allowed access to the building and will be asked to contact the box office for their options.
Acceptable Forms of ID: Photo IDs are required for anyone 14 and older and include a state issued ID, driver’s license, school ID, park district ID, etc. Children 2 and under will not be admitted into the building.
COVID Testing Site: If you need to schedule a COVID test and are looking for testing site options close to the theater, please click here. Appointments & pre-registration are mandatory for this site. Space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. For help locating other testing sites click here: IDPH Testing Sites
Masks: Everyone in the building must wear acceptable face coverings at all times, including during the show. The only exception is while in the process of actively drinking a beverage. All face coverings must cover the nose and mouth and comply with the CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings.
These protocols will remain in place through the end of January 9, 2022.
If you feel you cannot follow these guidelines, please contact the Box Office at 630-896-6666 to discuss your options.
CLEANING AND SANITIZING
In addition to the robust cleaning practices that were already in place, we have:
- Increased the frequency of cleaning throughout the building for high-touch areas in the front of house and back of house areas of Paramount
- Added state-of-the-art practices including self-cleaning anti-microbial covers in high touch areas where possible
- Set up hand-sanitizing stations throughout the venue
- Trained all employees in critical hand washing and cleaning guidelines
- Replaced waste receptacles with open top units so guests can throw out items without touching any surfaces
- HVAC units have been tested by a certified testing and balancing company and found to meet or exceed industry standards. MERV filters are used in all our units.
- Affiliations and certifications include ASHRAE, NEBB, SMACNA, TABB and inttb.com
EMPLOYEE & GUEST RESPONSIBILITY
We ask that employees and guests stay home if they are sick or exposed to COVID-19. Please contact the box office to transfer your tickets to another performance, donate your tickets or request a refund. There will be no fees or penalties for making changes to your tickets unless you are moving to a more expensive day or seating zone. You can contact: Paramount Theatre Box Office at email@example.com or call 630-896-6666
Paramount Theatre is located at 23 East Galena Boulevard, Aurora IL 60506.
Valet Parking is available at the main entrance of the Paramount Theatre starting one hour prior to show time for a fee of $11-$20. Due to traffic on Galena, please line up for valet on Stolp Avenue. From Route 31 (Lake Street), go east on Downer Place and turn north on Stolp Avenue. Valet parking closes after the show. Please pick up your car immediately following the performance. Valet parking is only available for Copley Theatre shows when they coincide with Paramount Theatre productions.
For your convenience, local parking is available for a fee at the municipal garage located on the corner of Stolp Avenue and Downer Place, just two blocks south of the Paramount. If you park in this lot, you may encounter a city employee at the entrance offering parking for a special flat rate of $3 cash if you pay in advance. This is a normal practice by the city. If you don’t have cash or want to pay after the show, the rate is free for the first hour, $2 for the second hour and $1 each hour after that. Cash is accepted at the machine by the garage elevator. Credit card is accepted upon exiting the parking garage.
Street parking is free but only available for a maximum of 90 minutes on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. No time limit on Sundays. There is also a free parking lot on River Street, just north of New York Street. See map below. PLEASE read parking guidelines posted throughout the downtown area to avoid the risk of being towed.
Free parking is also available at the Old Second National Bank parking lot (west corner of River Street and Galena Boulevard) with a Paramount Parking Pass. This lot (not a garage) is available during non-banking hours only: Monday through Friday after 6 p.m. • Saturday 2 p.m. to midnight • Sunday all day until midnight. Please display your Paramount Parking Pass when using this lot. DO NOT PARK in the Fifth Third, PNC or Banco Popular Lots. YOU WILL BE TOWED.
Do Not Park
Please do not park in the Fifth Third, PNC or Banco Popular Lots. YOU WILL BE TOWED. We also do not recommend parking in the Hollywood Casino garage at the east corner of Galena Boulevard and River Street. It’s not an authorized lot for the theatre, and there are long wait times to get in and out of that garage. Also, rates for that garage increase on show nights. Please read parking guidelines posted throughout the downtown area to avoid the risk of being towed.

We ask that patrons be respectful inside the theater. This applies to all ages and includes talking, cell phone use, intoxication, vocal outbursts and general disturbances. We reserve the right to remove any patron from the theater causing a disturbance to other patrons and the performance.
We ask that you refrain from wearing hats during the performance, as to not obstruct the views of other patrons.
You are required to sit in the seat you purchased and that’s noted on your ticket. If you’re seated in another patron’s seat, it may delay or disrupt the start of the show.
Photos and videos of the set pieces on stage, as well as any photos or video/audio recordings of the actual production, are prohibited due to our contractual agreements with the theatrical unions. This measure is put into place to protect the intellectual property of the talented artists who created the various elements of our productions. As the producing theater, we are obligated to enforce this “No Photo/Video/Audio” policy, which requires our staff to delete any images or recordings captured of the set or production. We appreciate your cooperation.
Unless otherwise indicated on the individual show page, children 2 and under are not allowed inside the theater. All patrons require a ticket no matter their age. No lap tickets.
Bags and other personal belongings are subject to search at the discretion of theater staff. Items not allowed in the building or theater include outside alcohol, pets, laser pointers, pocketknives and weapons of any kind, including toy weapons such as toy guns or knives. Food (including restaurant to-go boxes), professional cameras and audio recording devices are also not allowed inside the theater. Conceal and carry is not permitted at Paramount Theatre. Thank you for your cooperation.
