LISTENING DEVICES & Auracast™
Paramount Theatre offers assistive listening devices free of charge that are compatible with earphones and/or a Neckloop Telecoil Coupler (for T-Coil enabled hearing aid devices). Please visit the coat room before the show to borrow a listening device.
Auracast™ is a next-generation Bluetooth® audio technology that lets theatres stream high-quality sound directly to audience members’ personal devices—like smartphones, hearing aids or earbuds. Unlike traditional assistive listening systems, Auracast allows multiple listeners to tune in simultaneously with crystal-clear audio, improving accessibility for patrons with hearing loss and offering a more immersive experience for everyone. It’s easy to use, widely compatible and represents a major step forward in inclusive, modern theatre sound.
How does it work?
Anyone with Auracast compatible hearing aids can connect via their hearing aid App on their own smartphone:
- Open your hearing aid’s app on your smartphone
- Select one of our available broadcasts: BAND/VOX or VOCALS ONLY
- Tap to join and start listening
How do I know if my hearing aids are compatible?
Check with the manufacturer of your hearing aids to find out if yours are Auracast compatible.
Anyone who does NOT have Auracast compatible hearing aids, can check out one of our Assistive listening devices described above.
NOISE-CANCELLING HEADPHONES
Paramount Theatre offers noise-cancelling headphones to anyone who feels they will help them enjoy the performance more. Please visit the coat room before the show to borrow noise-cancelling headphones.
