Twelve Days Til Kinky Boots Closes!

Reopening 7 weeks ago is a major and ongoing success welcoming Paramount theatre-goers from out of our year-and-a-half-long shutdown. I’ve been doing my best to meet as many friends and patrons I can participating in the excitement in the air and positive vibe all around us. Countless individuals among our vaxxed and masked crowds remark on how much they have missed the theatre and upon entering, how extraordinary our Front of House Staff is handling health and safety protocols. I’ve been an eye-witness to our FOH Teams warmly greeting everyone and checking them in efficiently, professionally, and with the utmost courtesy. Of course there are incidents and episodes. I’ve seen how nothing frustrates their commitment to public heath remaining upbeat in their resolve to serve our audiences’ comfort and safety. All the while texts and comments flood our social media celebrating how great it is to back!

There’s another layer more to this euphoria in the tremendous accomplishment being cheered on eight shows a week in our home-grown sensation, Kinky Boots, running in stilettos until Sunday, October 17th! Our regional premiere of the Broadway hit is directed here by Trent Stork, choreographed by Isaiah Silvia-Chandley and Michael George, with Kory Danielson as Music Director and Conductor of our Paramount Orchestra rocking the temple walls with Cyndi Lauper’s Tony Award winning score!

I’m already waxing sentimental about having all this living on but only in our hearts and memories in less than 2 weeks! Michael Wordly as Lola, Devin DeSantis as Charlie, and Sarah Reinecke as Lauren have totally invested compassion and world class skills into their performance and into their very personal interpretation incomparable and unsurpassed. “And like Shazam! And Bam!” the spectacular Angels will blow your mind!

At Altiro Latin Fusion Sunday for brunch with the Sarah Siddons Society, if there’s such a thing as humbly admitting one is bragging, there I was going on about how they are about to see a show that is a once in a lifetime experience. Soon after the curtain came down – messages exclaiming “You were right! It was everything you said! Loved it”!

In praise of our design, tech, and running crews,  the Kinky Boots Ensemble and the Understudies (who slayed in Thursday afternoon’s final rehearsal and have been in performances as well) – I do want to urge you not to miss this stunning theatrical work produced and built right here in Aurora. While you’re clicking on paramountaurora.com for the remaining dates on the performance calendar, do check out saving 50% subscribing to the shows of this Tenth Anniversary Season including Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Groundhog Day, and Rock of Ages!

Thank you as ever for your support which has brought us out of lockdown and into the transformational thrall of live theatre! We’ve missed you and are so happy to see you!

Love & thanks,

Jim
