Next month, a personal friend of mine, Marla Frees, author and renowned psychic medium, is making a stop on her book tour right here at the Copley Theatre in the North Island Center in Downtown Aurora. I met Marla on a Chicago “L” train half a lifetime ago. She was a budding actress, and I had just begun directing in earnest myself. We struck up a conversation about her needing directions, what stop to get off, and I was somehow stirred to ask her, “Do you sing?” Marla replied, “Do I!” Soon we were working together and have been friends ever since.  Her book American Psychic: A Spiritual Journey from the Heartland, Hollywood, Heaven, and Beyond is about her quest to heal and inspire.
