Dakota Rolfe
Teaching Artist/Music
My name is Dakota, and I’ve been playing guitar for over 17 years, along with several years of experience playing bass guitar and ukulele. My goal for all my students when learning one of these fantastic instruments is to develop a literacy and passion for music, all while having fun doing so. As a teacher, I always want to create a safe, nurturing space for my students to develop their skills and become the musician they want to be.
Playing your instrument at home is crucial to your success as a musician. I ask students to play for a minimum of 20-30 minutes a day. The first several lessons with me will consist of becoming acquainted with each other as well as your goals on the instrument, developing a student-specific curriculum along the way to help meet those goals. We will then proceed to learn basic reading and technical skills that will shape your playing on the instrument.
