Musical chairs, anyone? Today we’re playing “musical offices,” packing and unpacking, moving into new spaces here at our home base in the North Island Center. The organization is growing, bursting at the seams, with personnel expanding in production, education, marketing, new works and audience services. This is making for a hectic time while still playing “catch-up” since Paramount’s Million Dollar Quartet opened a week ago. Add to that the bit of “postpartum withdrawal” I experience when rehearsals are over and the show is in the hands of this killer cast and stage managers. I could not keep away Sunday afternoon and had to attend the one o’clock Matinee with a capacity crowd having the time of their lives giving new meaning to the phenomenon that is “audience participation.”

The crowd went crazy!

I don’t quite know how to explain it, but it seems every show brings out the response from our patrons that…

This is the best one yet!

It sure feels good to see everyone enjoying themselves to these 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll hits played by our dynamite actor/singer/musicians. The refinement they achieved in just one week brings on a pride and gratitude very special to this experience. It’s truly mind blowing to think of the heights they will reach by the time we close on October 29!

Production meetings are coming up for Paramount’s Elf, Cabaret and Once, and right now I’m off to a meeting to discuss plans for next season!

Keep a good thought!

Love & thanks,

Jim
