Jen Evans
Teaching Artist
Jen Evans, a mixed-media, abstract painter, has shown her work in Chicago, L.A. and Japan. Born in Chicago, she resides in Aurora, IL with her family. With a Master’s degree in fine art and 20 years experience, Evans also works in art consulting and management. She considers connecting, consulting and curating as an extension of her creative practice. Evans currently serves as the Director of Public Art for the City of Aurora, IL. Previous positions include Director of Water Street Studios in Batavia, IL, corporate art consultant, art professor and refugee services coordinator. Between earning degrees in fine art, Evans taught English in Japan. In addition to playing with paint and playing matchmaker with artist and clients, Evans loves exploring. She recently spent a few weeks in Ethiopia, where she painted a large, outdoor mural.
