The Venue

Mandy and Kristin attended Kinky Boots together at the Paramount Theatre in August of 2021 and have been season subscribers ever since! When it came time to plan their wedding, they couldn’t think of a more perfect place than the Paramount Theatre Grand Gallery. It was the perfect place for a musical theater-themed wedding, and it meant so much to them personally, as they love their date nights to see the Paramount shows.

The Meeting

Mandy and Kristin met on the app HER in spring of 2020. Their first date was a bike ride and picnic in the forest preserve.

About The Couple

Mandy and Kristin both work in non-profit. Mandy works in youth and family services while Kristin works in IT for a university. Kristin was born and raised in Chicago and Mandy is from a small town in rural Ohio. Kristin enjoys a taste of country life whenever they’re able to visit Mandy’s family. They always look forward to their Paramount Theatre dates, which between their two subscriptions to the BOLD and Broadway Series, ends up being about a show every month or two.

Family Values

As a way to celebrate their two families coming together, Mandy and Kristin had a custom-made puzzle created which each of their children’s names on it. During the ceremony, Mandy, Kristin, and the kids all joined together to complete the puzzle, signaling the joining of two families.

The Sweets

In addition to a three-tiered cutting cake they also had a sweets table featuring cannoli, tarts, mini pies, mini doughnuts, and topped the night off with a popcorn station!

How did they personalize their wedding?

Mandy and Kristin wanted a musical theatre-themed wedding and Kristin ran with the theme! Each table name was assigned a musical, place cards were tickets to their favorite shows, and they customized the show poster frames with personalized musical posters. During the ceremony, a string quartet played various iconic musical numbers, and a soloist sang “Some Kind of Wonderful,” from the musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. In true musical theater fashion, Mandy and Kristin’s first dance was a choreographed number to “Dance with You” from the musical The Prom.
