A wedding coordinator is there on the day of the big event to make your wedding plans go smoothly. They focus on the logistics and are the time coordinator of the celebration, working to assure the whole team, from caterer to photographer, gets to do the job they came there to do.
Emile-Margaret Spangler – Assistant Events Manager
Emile-Margaret Spangler, Assistant Events Manager, is a seasoned wedding coordinator with Meyer Ballroom, celebrating two years on the job. She has facilitated over 71 weddings to date! She describes her role as having two major aspects. First, working with clients from the moment they book their event to get their information in order for the wedding day. Second, she is one of the day-of event coordinators, and will be present at the wedding rehearsal and throughout the actual wedding day to coordinate the moving parts of the ceremony and reception.

Emile-Margaret has some practical wedding wisdom to share. For example, when asked what she wished every couple knew going into the planning phase, she says, “Book early! Weddings dates are getting booked out so far in the future, especially the prime dates of September and October. We have several booked into fall of 2026! Once you lock in your wedding venue, all of the other details and vendors will start to fall into place.”

There are some services she wishes most couples would take advantage of– the add-on services! Emile-Margaret says, “We have some really great options, such as uplighting, various arches, rental décor, decorating assistants, and even the ability to rent the East side of the iconic Paramount Marquee for a custom message!” It’s the finishing touches like that which make a wedding so memorable for the guests, and will make your wedding photo album a cherished keepsake for decades to come.

Attention to detail coordinating your plans is the key to a seamless experience between all of the services you’ll be receiving day-of the event. Emile-Margaret explains a bit of the process. “We have a client planning portal, called Weven that our clients really love! We use this portal to consolidate our communications with the clients; to store floorplans, the timeline, and documents for the couple. Clients can even build a RSVP list and a wedding website there. One helpful planning tool in the portal is a task list assigned to each couple that offers prompts along their planning journey, such as when to book a caterer or send out save the dates.”

“While we are with the couple on the day-of, running the venue and keeping them on track to their timeline, we also reach out to all of their vendors the week-of, go over load-in/out, timeline, and answer any questions they may have. Also, we are the vendors point of contact on the wedding day, to ensure that the couple doesn’t have to worry about any of those particulars,” Emile-Margaret explains.

Client Meka F. shared her thoughts on the Meyer Ballroom team and what is was like to work with Emile-Margaret, “SHE WAS ON POINT! We were so thankful to have her help. She also did an amazing job with connecting with all of our vendors. (It was an) amazing team with answering all of our questions. Just thankful to have worked with them and to have had such a perfect wedding day!”
There is a reason your wedding day is referred to as the BIG DAY. With so much to plan and coordinate on top of the emotional whirlwind of inviting your loved ones and friends to witness as you partake in a timeless ceremony of commitment to the one you love, it feels very big indeed. But as a day-of coordinator, Emile-Margaret has seen enough big day weddings to know what the take-away is,”One tip I would recommend to couples is to not get too bogged down by taking wedding photos! Yes, it’s super important to have those concrete memories to look back on, but make sure youcal schedule specific time to take photos and then get back to your reception. You want to make sure you can enjoy the time with friends and family before the day is done!” That is a magi wedding day tip we hope you’ll keep in mind.
