When carefree nun-in-training Maria is sent by her convent to be the governess of seven children, she finds herself unexpectedly questioning her choices in life and falling in love with the children’s stern father, all the while the events of World War II play out in the background. One of the most beloved musicals of all time and a holiday favorite, The Sound of Music has enchanted audiences for more than 50 years. Matthew Silar joined the team at Paramount in July of 2018. He has spent a decade watching arts education change the lives of students from all over the country including Chicagoland, Denver and Dallas. He’s worked as an educator, private audition coach and educational theater director, as well as a professional actor, director and stage manager. Matthew proudly holds a BFA in Theater from ACU in Abilene, TX. He loves Twitter and chocolate chip cookies.
