When it comes to comedy, Chicago is a driving force. The Windy City area has produced some of the biggest names in improv, sketch and stand-up comedy in the country. So we’ve tapped into the talent pool of professional stand-ups that call Chicagoland home when they’re not touring the nation doing what they do best: making people laugh.

Welcome to the Copley Comedy Series. On select Saturday nights through November 2026, amazingly talented professional stand-ups take the stage in the intimate 165-seat Copley Theatre. From Zanies, the Improv and Chicago Theatre to the Fillmore, Symphony Hall, HBO and Nexflix, these seasoned stand ups are coming to Aurora intent on showing you a good time – interpret that as you will.

There’s no drink minimum. Come early and hang out in the very cool Copley Bar and just have some fun.

About the performers

The Tim Cavanagh Comedy Show takes you on an interactive ride filled with funny songs, stand-up, and over $7 in prizes—every show!!! While that kind of prize money adds up over time, he loves his audiences so much that he sees it as a “mighty small sacrifice.” Not that he seeks it, but a Nobel Prize for Humanitarianism is being whispered about. On stage, his warm style and quick wit make every performance unique and unforgettable. Tim’s guest appearances on Chicago TV and radio over the years have been classic, starting back in the day on WLUP, doing shows like Steve Cochran and Danny Bonaduce. Nationally, Tim can be heard regularly in over 100 radio markets on “The Bob and Tom Show.” His monthly segment, “Tim Cavanagh’s Cavalcade of Celebrity Birthdays” is a B&T favorite. Over the years, 42 of his songs have been played on the legendary “Dr. Demento” radio show, which debuted his hit, “99 Dead Baboons.” You can also find Tim on Sirius/XM. Tim is a veteran of ABC-TV, Comedy Central, and Showtime. His comedy special, “The Joys of UncleDumb” can be seen online at “Dry Bar Comedy.” His comedy career suffered a short setback in 2021, when he was diagnosed with malignant pancreatic cancer. Five years after chemo, radiation, and Whipple surgery, Tim is cancer free and back doing what he loves: making people laugh!

Michelle Krajecki is a former teacher turned stand up comic, whose sharp, clean and relatable humor has entertained audiences across the country. Born and raised in Chicago, she draws inspiration from the beautiful chaos of her own life – years spent teaching, raising two kids on the spectrum and being married to a very tall husband. Add in middle age misadventures and daily battles with changing technology and Michelle has no shortage of material. She started out at the Training Center at The Second City in Chicago mid life and expanded her reach nationally. She has performed with multiple groups including High Fiber Comedy and Flashback Funny Forward, to name a few. She is currently traveling with Boomer Broads Comedy. Her Open Bar Comedy special, “Accept No Substitute” earned widespread attention with clips approaching 3 million views. Often described as observational and hilarious, Michelle Krajecki brings heart, honesty and a touch (sometimes more) of sarcasm to every stage she steps on.

A Chicago comedy veteran, Tim Benker has performed stand-up from New York to Las Vegas, and has co-hosted morning radio shows in Las Vegas and Houston along the way. Tim recently performed the multi-media comedy shows “Men of a Certain Rage,” “The Four Fathers” and “The Idiot’s Guide to Fixing Stooopid.” Tim occasionally appears on the musical comedy stage as his alter-ego, “The Very Famous Lance Vegas.” Credits: Zanies Chicago; The Improv Chicago, LA, Las Vegas; The Funny Bones Chicago, St. Louis, Dayton; Catch a Rising Star Chicago, New York, Las Vegas.
