Puppet Design and Creation

Brand new this fall! This class takes students through the process of conceptualizing, creating, and bringing their puppet to life!

Students will explore the fundamentals of character development, visual storytelling, and basic puppet design while learning how ideas transform into fully realized, expressive creations. From early sketches and brainstorming to building personality through form and movement, this class encourages imagination, experimentation, and playful design thinking.

The semester concludes with a special Work-in-Progress Showing in PSA’s McKee Studio Theater, where students will have the opportunity to showcase their creations and celebrate their creative process and growth. This Work-in-Progress performance will take place on 12.9.2026 at approximately 5:30 pm.
