Bring out the family for our annual FREE fireworks show presented by the City of Aurora!

All General Admission show. Standing room only in front of stage. Bag chairs on designated cement areas. Bag chairs and blankets on grass. Please click here for complete details.

Gates open at 6 PM

Hey Aurora, Fireworks are back at RiverEdge Park! Grab your chairs and blankets, find a spot, enjoy the music and dance away Independence Day! Text your friends, tell your family, and come enjoy all Aurora has to offer at RiverEdge’s favorite community FREE event. Gates open and music starts at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

  • When: Wednesday, July 3, 2026
  • Gates Open: 6 PM
  • Music: 6-9 PM
  • Fireworks: 9:15 PM

NOTE: There will be a brief presentation on the stage from City officials during the evening.

Entrance Gates

  • Gates 2 & 4 only
    • Gate 2 is located across the Post Office/ATC North End Parking Lot
    • Gate 4 is located at the very south end of the Park across from the train station and at the pedestrian bridge entrance

Red Balloon

  • The City will fly a large Red Balloon from Veterans Island, where the fireworks will be shot off. This will be North of RiverEdge Park. When selecting a place to sit for the fireworks, make sure you can see the Red Balloon – if you can see the Balloon, you can see the fireworks.

RiverEdge Food & Drink

  • Bring your own food & drinks – NO ALCOHOL in the Park
  • Food trucks/food vendors will be located in Wilder Park for this event
  • No bars open

Free Patron Parking

  • Free Parking will be available at the ATC/Train Station Parking Lot located across Route 25 from RiverEdge Park
  • Free Parking will be available in the Lot W/309 North River on the other side of the bridge
    Note: Lot W is within steps of the City’s Food Trucks at Wilder Park

Patrons ADA Parking

  • ADA Parking will be available at the ATC/Metra Train Station Parking Lot

Restrooms

  • RiverEdge Park restrooms will be open for this event

Shuttles

  • The City is running shuttle buses from various locations around Aurora to the viewing sites.
    Note: The shuttles will stop running at 9 p.m. and will resume immediately following the fireworks to return people to their parking lots.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED

Alcohol, fireworks of any kind including sparklers, glass of any kind, grills, fire burning candles, flags, boom boxes, in-line skates, skate shoes, scooters, roller skates, skateboards, laser pointers, pocketknives and weapons of any kind, including toy weapons such as toy guns or knives. Conceal and carry is not permitted at RiverEdge Park.
