GOOD MORNING! This year’s Jeff Award nominations are in! TEN NODS FOR PARAMOUNT! What a rush! Remember last season? The Jeff Committee sure did and many thanks to its members for their commitment and acknowledgement! Chicago’s theater scene is so full of excellence and excitement and how they sift through hundreds of shows and make their final decision is something that’s got to be so difficult and demanding. Let’s take a look at how Paramount made the cut this 50th Anniversary year for The Jeffs. (Btw, this is just my informal way of sharing this with you. For the complete formal announcement click here).
And our nominees are:
Best Large Musical
Cabaret
Million Dollar Quartet
Best Ensemble
Million Dollar Quartet
Principal Performer
Tiffany Topol (Girl in Once)
Supporting Role
Hollis Resnik (Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret)
Gavin Rohrer (Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet)
Lighting Design
Yael Lubetzky (Cabaret)
Jesse Klug (Million Dollar Quartet)
Music Direction
Tom Vendafreddo (Once)
Projection Design
Joseph A. Burke (Elf The Musical)
So proud of and grateful for everyone’s collaboration and enthusiasm that has brought our Paramount Family this recognition and that includes our appreciation for you, dear reader, our audience!
What a remarkable, memorable year! And on the horizon, more theatrical adventures are in store! Just yesterday, Chicago auditions began for August Rush, today is the Designer Run for Legally Blonde, and tomorrow our cast will hit the stage and work the set for their first time! What memories they’re making and more to come!
Love & thanks,
Jim
