Tuesdays with Corti: Superstar Cast

Holy smokes! There is so much going on around here, and some of it, dear reader, I can’t even announce yet! What I can announce, however, is the best of it: the star-studded cast of Paramount’s Jesus Christ Superstar! Among the cast of 27, there are 19 actors making their Paramount debuts!

Ladies first! Stunningly beautiful and talented, the Ensemble Women are:

• Ciera Dawn
• Candace C. Edwards
• Keirsten Hodgens
• Reneisha Jenkins
• Renellè Nicole
• Kafi Pierre
• Camille Robinson
• Alexis J. Roston
• Jessica Brooke Seals

Their versatility in acting and singing prowess continues with these gifted Ensemble Men:

• Stephen “Blu” Allen
• Jos N. Banks
• Gilbert Domally
• Jared D.M. Grant
• Micheal Lovette
• Gabriel Mudd
• Brian Nelson Jr.
• Jaymes Osborne
• Jon Pierce
• Travis Porchia

Here are the principal players, along with some of their all-star credits:

• Mark J.P. Hood is “Simon Zealotes” – #TeamPharrell finalist on NBC’s The Voice
• Evan Tyrone Martin is “Peter” – Paramount’s “King Triton” in The Little Mermaid and “Collins” in Rent
• Lorenzo Rush Jr. is “Caiaphas” – Jeff-nominated for Porchlight’s Ain’t Misbehavin’
• Avionce Hoyles is “King Herod” and “Annas” – The National Tour of Memphis
• Rufus Bonds, Jr. is “Pontius Pilate” – Carnegie Hall soloist and Broadway actor (Rent, Once on This Island, Parade),
• Felicia Boswell is “Mary Magdalene” – multiple award-winning Broadway actress (Shuffle Along, Motown, Memphis)
• Mykal Kilgore is “Judas Iscariot” – Postmodern Jukebox, NBC’s The Wiz Live, Broadway’s Motown, Hair, and the National Tour of Book of Mormon
• Destan Owens is “Jesus of Nazareth” – TV and Film actor, leading man of Broadway’s Rent, Chicago and Smokey Joe’s Café

I am starstruck! A king’s ransom in riches here, with so many celebrated Broadway talents sharing the stage with so many distinguished local Chicago talents; what a rare opportunity to behold Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera like you’ve never seen or heard it before!

With Co-Music Directors Kory Danielson and Tom Vendafreddo and the Paramount Orchestra, Director Ron Kellum is creating a work of relevance and thrills! It will be the truly breathtaking Grand Finale of Paramount’s Broadway Series Season Six!

Love & thanks,

Jim
