Song Writing Masterclass with Groundhog Day’s Alex Syiek

We are bringing one of our amazing performers from Paramount Theatre to our students for a unique masterclass focusing on Song Writing. Alex Syiek (currently Phil Connors in the Paramount Theatre Production of Groundhog Day) will be joining us on Saturday, March 12th from 10 am -12 pm. Because this one time masterclass, Alex needs a bit of writing from you before class starts. Don’t worry if you’ve never written a song before, or if you’ve written 5 musicals already. Choose one of the following prompts and start creating!

1. Write about a day during the pandemic.

2. Someone’s trying to break up with you. Write your reply.

3. Write about something that happened while you were driving/riding in a car.

Focus on being honest (but not necessarily truthful) and focus on rhyme. Your lyrics can be as long or a short as you like, but more is better to get to know you!

The cap for this masterclass is 20 students.
