ABOUT US
Aurora, IL is at the center of our history as a couple. We are “high school sweethearts” and have been together ever since we started dating in 2015. We both grew up there, met there, attended West Aurora High School together, worked as lifeguards together, and got engaged downtown. Our wedding day in Aurora was so special to us as it was our last big event with all of our family and friends before starting both a new chapter as a married couple and also a move out of state for work. Darryl is a nuclear engineer and Elise is a labor and delivery nurse. We both love spending time with family and friends and trying new restaurants and are looking forward to doing more traveling together.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE MEYER BALLROOM
Spending our wedding day in and around Aurora, IL meant a lot of to us because of our background both individually and together. We chose Chapel on the Green and Paramount’s Meyer Ballroom because we felt that they fit perfectly with the ambiance we wanted for our wedding day. Both included aspects of a classic wedding theme while still being bright, beautiful, and allowing for us to add our own colors and personality to the spaces. The staff at both venues were so kind and helpful and we knew that they valued our wedding day experience. We got so many compliments on our choice of venues!
THE DETAILS
When planning our wedding, our goal was to create an event that was both classic and modern. Our wedding took place in the fall, which inspired a lot of our wedding colors and decorations. While we had more timeless and modern wedding colors of white and green throughout our ceremony and reception, we added a lot of pops of terracotta and other warmer colors to match the season. We incorporated a lot of floral decorations throughout the day as well which felt elegant but still matched the overall theme.
Our hope for our wedding was to have not only a beautiful event but also a fun one that our guests would enjoy. We wanted our ceremony and reception to feel classy, but also warm and inviting. It was an amazing day for us and our family and friends.
