The Paramount Theatre is pleased to announce the opening of the A-Men: Super Heroes of the Arts in A-Town exhibit in our visual Art Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Grand Gallery of the Paramount Theatre. The exhibit features the work of local men who have influenced Aurora’s downtown Art Scene, and will hang through January 31, 2015. Many pieces are available for purchase. This First Friday opening reception Meet & Greet is free and open to the public on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A cash bar is available. Join us to support the arts in Aurora.
“After the hugely successful Broad Strokes Exhibit drew record numbers to its opening reception last December, I thought it would only be fair to honor the men who have similarly influenced downtown Aurora’s Art Scene with an exhibit of their own,” said Melissa Mercado, curator of the Paramount Art Gallery. “The show will feature a wide range of art forms, reflecting what makes each individual tick. It is a diverse group. Invitees range from the well-established, award- winning, professional artist, to the amateur. The key here is not necessarily artistic skill, but celebrating the Arts in A-Town. The common thread, is that all participants are truly passionate about making Aurora’s downtown a vibrant arts community. That’s what makes them A-Men and super heroes in my book!”
